
WOODIE CAMP
The Minnesota Waterfowl Association’s Woodie Camp is a youth waterfowl camp for boys and girls ages 13 to 15, held in the first half of August. The hands-on camp teaches kids about outdoor photography, habitat, wetland ecology, waterfowl biology, duck banding, shooting, duck and goose calling, game care, waterfowl identification, field decoying, boat and water safety and game cooking. THE YOUNG WATERFOWLERS PROGRAM
A waterfowl hunting education event, the Young Waterfowlers Program is held at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Bloomington. Young hunters, ages 12 to 16, will learn about waterfowl and waterfowl hunting from the experts and have the opportunity to hunt with experienced mentors in the Minnesota Valley Refuge. Includes 12 hours of course work and six hours of field experience. The event is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Waterfowlers Association, Capable Partners, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Minnesota DNR. The event is typically held on Youth Waterfowl Day. HUNT OF A LIFETIME
Hunt of a Lifetime is a non-profit organization that grants hunting and fishing adventures to children who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses. Hunt of Lifetime has been able to help many young kids receive their dream adventure. To date over 200 kids have had their dreams fulfilled.
